Here's hoping, Egan! I think it may be a while before people who hire professional writers will come to their senses and realize that humans play an essential role in the content creation process, with or without AI.

I've recently had my first experience of working with a client who instead of providing writing brief (for some blog posts), provided an actual mini-post generated by ChatGPT, and asked me to review and improve it. Because none of the facts in those drafts cite the sources, it took a whole lot of time attempting to fact check those facts, and in researching them, I realized that if it had been up to me to begin with, I would have chosen other more compelling facts instead.

Also, the copy was dry and uninspiring, and I had to find ways to make it more engaging.

So my experience so far has been that ChatGPT doesn't save time at all. I've also noticed more and more copywriter and design 'influencers' (i.e. have lots of followers) come out to promote AI writing tools and Dall-e type tools, and it just feels so wrong to me. It's like AI is being forced on us whether we like it or not, and it's f#*&ing annoying, frankly...

</rant> :-)
